Account Manager – Original Equipment (OEM) Automotive Aftermarket / Vehicle Manufacturers
Territory – Midlands / Central
Basic £35 – 40K + Car + Benefits
The Client
Our client is a major manufacturer of automotive products to both OE and aftermarket sectors. They hold a major market leading presence whilst adopting an innovative approach to new product development.
Due to promotion they have an exciting opportunity for an Account Manager, based within the above territory, to maintain and develop business with their OEM customers.
The Role
• Maintain and develop current business with OEM’s
• Build strong positive relationships with commercial and technical decision makers to secure and sustain business.
• Work closely with the customers to achieve their annual economic requirements.
• Maintain a comprehensive database on assigned customers, contacts, quotations and competitors.
• Advise and assist OEM customers with product specifications and application information.
• Report progress, work closely and support other members of the team.
• Maintain and develop customers business within the specified target areas.
• Identify new and potential opportunities.
• Advise management on commercial developments and likely consequences.
• Ensure adherence to corporate guidelines and standards.
• Keep the customer updated with new developments and products.
• Interact with the companies manufacturing and development facilities (European and Global).
• Interact with multiple customer manufacturing and development facilities (European and Global).
Skills and Experience Required
Person Specification
• Experience within the automotive industry market segment is essential preferably with Japanese OEMs.
• Customer focused with the ability to communicate at all levels.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, at both technical and commercial levels.
• Good working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft word.
• An Engineering background would be desirable.
• Ability to demonstrate expertise in building good working relationships with major customers.
• Good attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Commercially astute & financially aware.
• European language experience would be advantageous.
• Sound negotiation and presentation skills.
• Team player.
• Willing to travel (Europe)
