Skills Required: Our company has the capability to manufacture many of the prototype components used in the development of its new vehicles. However because of business growth in-house workshop prototyping capacity (Machining, Rapid Prototype, Model Making, Sheet Metalwork etc) is no longer sufficient and overload is being passed to other sub contract suppliers who have a similar prototyping capability. The person undertaking this role will be dealing with sub contract prototype suppliers to the company. They will work as a member of a small team & be expected to request quotations, pass drawings and other data to suppliers, analyse quotations received and keep track of supplier delivery & performance. This role requires excellent organisational skills, initiative & an ability to communicate clearly at all levels, knowledge of basic engineering principles (metalworking, model making, RP etc) would be an advantage as would experience in a purchasing role. The incumbent may be asked to assist with other tasks as required.

Experience Required: This role requires a person who is used to working in an organised fashion, capable of handling multiple requests for quotations with subcontract suppliers, able to find answers to technical queries and work to deadlines as a member of a small prototype outsourcing team. Experience in a purchasing type role is not essential though could be an advantage, similarly knowledge of engineering workshop processes would also be an advantage.
