Job Description
We currently require a re-enactor for a prehistory education company for teaching sessions and events. Work is on an ad hoc basis only with details kept on file for occasions when work arises, so would be ideal for part-time workers or students. Work would consist of re-enacting for 1 hour long teaching sessions and similar.
The position is offered on a self-employed contractor basis, so the individual would be responsible for their own tax return (tax and national insurance), although guidance can be given on this. Insurance cover is provided by the company.

Skills and Experience Required
Essential (all experience can be in a formal or informal capacity):
• Knowledge of/ interest in archaeology, European prehistory, early historic periods OR anthropology and tribal societies.
AND/ OR
• Acting or re-enactment experience.
PLUS
• Proven experience working with children. Reference required (professional or personal). • Enhanced CRB issued within the last 12 months, or be willing to cover the cost of this (full portability supported). • Ability to follow instructions. • Good communication skills. • Able to work from a script. • Punctual. • Confident. • Team working skills. • Ability to cope with changing situations and think on feet. • Live in the London area. • Willing to work in a range of settings (in/outdoors) and with a range of audiences. • Willing to work as a self-employed contractor. • Ability to provide two references, at least one of which must be from a previous employer.
Desirable:
• Qualifications in archaeology, history or anthropology (A level/ BA/ BSc, MA/ MSc). • Formal experience or qualifications in acting. • Formal experience or qualifications in working with children. • Experience of working with artefacts or interpreting objects. • Public speaking experience. • Ability to use email, ‘Microsoft Office packages’ and ‘Google documents’, or willingness to learn.
