DETAILS FOR THE POST OF HEAD OF MATHEMATICS FULL TIME (OR PART-TIME 0.5 – 0.8) PERMANENT POSITION (TLR2: £3640)
Tenbury High School is a Specialist Science and Mathematics College and Extended School which was judged by OFSTED to be a good school with many outstanding features in December 2008.
The Mathematics department consists of four teachers, three full time and one part time. At present Mathematics is taught in four groups, loosely setted by ability, in Year 7 and in four setted groups in Years 8, 9, 10 and 11.
The department has three main teaching rooms, clustered together to make a Mathematics teaching area, with a small number of lessons taught in additional classrooms. Each teacher has responsibility for the resources and displays in his/her own room and for providing a suitably stimulating learning environment.
The department is well equipped with a whiteboard and Mimio interactive system in each room. There is currently a full set of Collins Mathematics Frameworking textbooks for KS3 and Hodder Murray GCSE textbooks for KS4. Both KS3 and KS4 have additional homework books which are kept at home.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, relentlessly optimistic and positive person, capable of motivating staff and students and securing the highest standards of achievement and attainment.
The closing date for applications is Wednesday 27th April 2011.
Interviews will be held on Thursday 5th May 2011.
The post is available from 1st September 2010 or earlier if possible.
