Finance - Senior Corporate Underwriter
A Senior Corporate Underwriter job in the North West of England, UK is offered by PSD Group.
Salary c.£50k + bonus up to 20% and benefits.
An outstanding opportunity for an ambitious Senior Corporate Underwriter within the Credit and Risk Department of a progressively expanding asset finance company. You will assist in the day-to-day underwriting of new business proposals in line with company policy, procedures and relevant underwriting mandates – providing effective and timely responses, decisions and support service to Brokers and Business Development Managers.
Working with Corporate, Property and Manufacturing divisional areas your objective is to process and underwrite business finance proposals within commercially acceptable levels of risk.
Key responsibilities will include:
Apply mandated underwriting authority in the underwriting of proposals involving property, plant, equipment, commercial vehicles, cars and loans.
To prepare summary submissions for, and (if/as appropriate) participate as a member of the company’s internal Credit Committee in the underwriting of larger credit facility applications.
To work in conjunction with Corporate, Property, & Manufacturing Divisional Sales Areas to maximize new business opportunities and income.
To ensure that all responses/decisions are relayed in a timely and effective manner and in line with agreed company service standards.
Prepare periodical large exposures Credit Facility Review reports in accordance with Credit Policy.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Direct experience in a credit lending role within a bank/finance house.
Experienced and knowledgeable in the finance of property, plant, equipment, commercial vehicles and cars. Experience of structured lending would also be useful but not essential.
Detailed understanding and interpretation of customer financial statements of accounts, budgets and forecasts.
Logical and balanced decision making skills.
Able to work as an integral member of a small professional departmental team
